UCSF Health and UCSF Campus Employees Working in Clinical Programs

New employees must be COVID tested.

  • New Health candidates are required to have a COVID-19 test 3-7 days before their appointment with Occupational Health.  The practice coordinator will schedule this when scheduling the medical evaluation.
  • New Campus employees must be tested before their start date.  The practice coordinator will give you the information about how this is done..

UCSF employees working in healthcare settings including UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco General Hospital, and Langely Porter Psychiatric Hospital are required to complete a medical evaluation prior to the start of their employment. The appointment should be scheduled at least a week prior to the anticipated start date. Employees must bring the following to this appointment:

  • Immunization records (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B) or titers
  • Copies of any TB skin tests done within the last 12 months
  • Copies of any chest x-ray reports done within the last 12 months
  • Copies of any Quantiferon test results within the last 12 months
  • Proof of TDAP vaccine

If you are a UCSF Health employment candidate, please request your background check right away to ensure that you can begin employment on time.  Occupational Health cannot schedule your new hire exam until you do. 

Once your exam is scheduled, please go to the following link to complete your paperwork before your new hire visit to Occupational Health.  Please bring the completed forms to your visit.

If you are a new UCSF Campus hire, please go to the following link to request a clearance exam.  Your HR rep or supvisor may also put in the request.  This link is available through UCSF computers or VPN only.

Graduate Medical Education
Per UCSF GME policy, incoming residents, non-ACGME fellows, and non-ABMS fellows must complete the pre-placement requirements before coming to UCSF.
