UCSF Health and UCSF Campus Employees Working in Clinical Programs

New employees must be COVID vaccinated, including a booster.

UCSF employees working in healthcare settings including UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco General Hospital, and Langely Porter Psychiatric Hospital are required to complete a medical evaluation prior to the start of their employment. The appointment should be scheduled at least a week prior to the anticipated start date. We request canditates bring as much of the following to this appointment:as possible:

  • Proof of COVID vaccinations and booster or approved exceptions.
  • Current flu immunizations during flu season.
  • Immunization records (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B) or titers
  • Copies of any TB skin tests done within the last 12 months
  • Copies of any chest x-ray reports done within the last 12 months
  • Copies of any Quantiferon test results within the last 12 months
  • Proof of TDAP vaccine

If you are a UCSF Health employment candidate, please request your background check right away to ensure that you can begin employment on time.  Occupational Health cannot schedule your new hire exam until you do. 

Once your exam is scheduled, we will send you our new hire form to complete to the extent possible.  Please fax or bring the form to your visit.  The scheduler can provide you the fax number, depending on the office where you are scheduled.

If you are a new UCSF Campus hire,  you, your HR rep or your supervisor can put in a request for you to be seen.  This link is available through UCSF computers or VPN only.

Graduate Medical Education
Per UCSF GME policy, incoming residents, non-ACGME fellows, and non-ABMS fellows must complete the pre-placement requirements before coming to UCSF.
